Ethics and Funding

Ethics and Funding

Three things readers deserve to know about any publication they read: who pays for it, who it answers to, and what it will and will not do for money. This page answers those three.

How Deeper Truth is funded

At launch, the site is self-funded by its operator. There are no investors, no advertisers, no sponsors, no affiliate programs, and no grants. Hosting, domain, and software costs come out of the operator’s own pocket.

There is no advertising, no sponsored content, no paid tier, and no current plan to add any. If funding sources change, this page updates first.

Editorial independence

No outside party has editorial control over what we publish. That includes future donors, subscribers, and any eventual business partners. The editor of record decides what ships and what does not. If an article criticizes a company that happens to donate to us, the article ships anyway or the donation gets returned. There is no third path.

Conflicts of interest

When we cover a company, industry, or individual that the operator or a contributor has any financial or personal relationship with, the article discloses the relationship at the top. The threshold is broad on purpose: disclosure is cheap, the appearance of a hidden conflict is expensive.

Gifts and access

  • We do not accept gifts, travel, or hospitality from the entities we cover
  • We do not accept embargoed information in exchange for favorable framing. We will accept an embargo on its own terms (respecting a release date) without any editorial strings
  • We do not pay sources. We may, in rare cases, pay for documents from a legitimate records broker (court filings, for instance). When we do, the article discloses it

AI assistance

The AI assistance policy is documented on the Methodology page.

Comments, republishing, and reuse

  • Quoting Deeper Truth in other publications: fine, with attribution and a link back
  • Republishing full articles: by permission only. Email [email protected]
  • Training AI models on our content: not permitted without a written agreement

Questions

If something on this page does not match what you have seen in our coverage, tell us. Email [email protected]. Inconsistencies between stated policy and actual behavior are the kind of failure that becomes a story elsewhere, and we would rather hear about it first.
